Grischuk is right. Kazan was a dull event and a lot of people in the chess world agree the fomart needs to be changed. But what you can’t change is that players over 2700 know openings so deeply and make few mistakes so there is going to be a very high percentage of draws. The honest truth is, changing the fomart would improve things, but chess at the highest levels is becoming ”played out”.
